india

I took a quick glance again at my friend Tierney's blog of her time in India. She has been working for the International Justice Mission in southeast India for the past 6 months where she is part of the communication team. This organization is a Christian organization that is essentially rescuing women and men out of slavery and sex-slavery in that country, and also dealing with other human rights issues.

I love looking at the photos on her blog because I have wanted to travel to India for so long and it is really neat to see how colorful a place it is and to see all the wonderful experiences she is having while there.

Way to go Tierney!

Thank you Father

Thank you Father for a wonderful weekend. I praise you. Amen.

Praying for victims

Lord I pray for the victims of the airliner crash off the coast of Brazil. Father please seek and save the lost....please bring hope and healing to the families involved. Please turn those that need you to you. Please comfort those who are your own.
Amen.

Encouragement

From my new bible study this morning:

9For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. - Colossians 1

Empty me...

Lord empty me of selfish ambition and the point of my pride...Lord empty me of me, so I can be filled with you.

My love...

Patience, Passion, Power

Sometimes our love is tested and we are called upon by the Lord to be self-sacrificial and patient. As Greg reminded us on Sunday, patience is a gift from the Lord; a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, please help me to allow the Holy Spirit to work fully in my life. Please help me to love those around me better. Please help me to see through their eyes...to put myself in their shoes.

Father, thank you for a beautiful weekend. Thank you for lots of sunshine, for being on the boat with Jamie, whom I love... and doing what we love together. Thank you also for Sunday at church and Sunday projects...walking on the beach, planting flowers, cleaning up, making dinner at home.

Lord, please ignite your passion within me again to love and serve you more. Please bring the power of your resurrection, the Cross, to help me overcome the battles that rage against my life and against my soul. Please give me the strength to be obedient. I can't do it on my own, I need a Saviour. Lord Jesus, please come.

Galatians 5
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
